CORROSION
OF GALVANISED STEEL AND PARASITIC ELECTRICAL CURRENTS
JOURDAIN products are galvanised in compliance with the 1461 standard, as is all livestock equipment on the market.
However, depending on the environment, even galvanised steel may be at risk of corrosion in the medium to long term despite this surface treatment.
Changes in feed composition, veterinary treatments, maintenance and phytosanitary products, or a combination of these, are all factors which may affect the zinc protective coating.
This mixture acts in the same way as a battery: in contact with oxygen and due to the effect of electricity present in the facility (parasitic, static, telluric, etc.), the structure of the zinc is modified and the protective coating is affected. In this way, the phenomenon of corrosion can appear in a very short time.
There are therefore many different causes of corrosion, which can be difficult to determine in order to explain effects observed on posts.
HOWEVER, IN ORDER TO PREVENT THIS PHENOMENON, WE RECOMMEND:
Double sleeve (first sleeve set in) +
Bituminous paint (annual renewal is recommended)
