LONG CHICANE,
PLATE-MOUNTED
THE CHICANE ENABLES ANIMALS TO BE SENT EITHER TOWARDS THE RACE OR TOWARDS ANOTHER EXIT, e.g. leading to the loading ramp. The chicane limits reversal of animals within the race. The long chicane allows the livestock handler, once the race is closed, to cross by opening a 0.88 m steel-sheet small gate equipped with a SURLOCK® bracket. The long chicane has a steel-sheet barrier with 2 m lifting bar, fitted with a step, enabling the livestock handler to work at height at chicane level. The plate-mounted long chicane is easy to install on a perfectly flat concrete slab. Good quality concrete will enable plates to withstand animal pushing strain. In the animal passage area, consider creating a concrete area with a brushed surface to prevent animals falling. Ground attachment pins not supplied. We recommend a 20 cm thick slab minimum with resistance of C25/30 MPa. Please use at least four M12 L160 pins per post. PLEASE USE HANDLING AREA POSTS: PLATE-MOUNTED BARE POSTS WITH BRACKETS ARE NOT SUITABLE.
